IAPSO Insurance Guidelines

To view the conditions of Tryg’s insurance we have provided a PDF document outlining relevant information. Note that you need Acrobat Reader installed to view the PDF document.

To file an insurance claim please use our online insurance claim module.

What to do when you receive the goods:

1.       Examine the goods immediately on delivery in order to establish any loss or damage. In the event of apparent damage or shortage make a reservation on the consignment note/delivery note stating nature and cause of loss or damage.

This reservation is to be followed up by a written claim to the carrier. If the loss or damage was not apparent at the time of taking delivery, give notice in writing to the carriers within 3 days of delivery by vessel, 7 days by lorry and 14 days by air. If neither is done the claim may be rejected.

2.       When delivery is made by container ensure that the container and its seals are examined immediately by a responsible official.

In no circumstances give clean receipt where container or goods is in doubtful condition, except under written protest.

Claims of less than USD 100 cannot be considered. Insurance claims must be received by IAPSO within 30 days of the goods being placed at the consignee’s disposal.
